you'd be far better off buying a cheap one from Alpkit.

Agreed. They're not amazing, but they're cheap, plus they are guaranteed, and last longer. Probably cost the same.

They don't currently exist. The site says coming in Feb. At some point, they might have to update that...

They will also now be more expensive, and £120(predicted rrp) for a first pad might not be such a no-brainer?

I think alpkit will have a similar bye as before including the new pads. So they will have the old cheaper pads still available just no new batch yet

i've been waiting for what feels like forever for the new alpkit mats.  I no there being hand made in Britain and it takes a long time  :yawn:  but soon i shall be investing else where

I have an old one to sell, 35£ is ok? An almost new one which just needs some sawing for shoulder straps (they are fine but will need to be reinforced). And an older one (black freestone) which is almost a tank and won't ever rip...

I won't be able to carry everything back home in Italy!
