That Tom and Jerry moment...

For those moments that just leave you in a giggling heap...

Last night, I took my Daughter, Niece and Nephew; to the wall.
Being a wet Friday evening, it could best be described as "Bloody Heaving".
In a crowded bouldering room...
My darling, seven year old, Nephew ( having completed a tricky sequence he'd been working); called for his uncle's attention.
Freudian?
Maybe.
Funny?
Yep.
The look on his face, in the now silent, frozen room, as he realised what he'd said?
Priceless!
Did he shout "look at me , Uncle Matt"?
No.
He said.
"Look at me, UNCLE MONKEY!"

Actually, I kinda like it...

I tried to explain a Douglas Adams reference to my 6 yr old daughter and ended up explaining that there were lots of funny stories out there...

She replied "Oh Daddy, that's when you were little, not now".

I explained that sometimes I read much older stories, that were written long before even Grandma and Grandad were born...

"Oh" she said, thinking for a moment...

"They must be really dusty then".

Not sure if this counts, but my Tom and Jerry style moment involved cutting a hatch/hole in a ceiling to get into a sealed in loft space. I drilled the corners - avoided the joists and then cut between each corner, with my head below the section I was cuttign out - so when I completed the final leg it fell on my head :)
