Get well soon.

Hopefully they get on the rubbish out of it. I cut my knee open as a student whilst bouldering 10 years ago. It was cleaned up and irrigated in A&E (not as bad as Bubba's) but constantly ached after. 10 years later I needed surgery on my knee & the surgeon found a few bits of grit still present - now cleaned out - no knee pain.

More importantly is the bike ok?

The Northern General have done a magnificent job. Still going to be a long recovery but better than expected from the initial gore:

Glad they've managed to put you back together, the other photo was scary.

No graft?
Good, one less thing to heal.
You'll be running around in a week....ish...

No, no graft - it cleaned up a lot better than it looked initially. When I saw it today I was amazed.  Reckon it'll be a month before any running about but hey, could have been worse, could have landed on my face instead of my knee.

This happened at the Blacka Water Splash - a bit of Peak  mountain biking that many of us will be familiar with; the idea is to not brake down the hill over the little drops and hit the splash at full speed. I've done it countless times before; it's totally safe.
However this time as soon as I touched the stream I was off. Water levels were normal. I think somebody booby-trapped the crossing by putting an object in the water - Fatdoc has said he's seen an obviously placed rock there in the past. If you're headed that way it might be worth sending the first rider down to check out the ford first.

Looks a lot better than Sunday, full speed ahead with the recovery (G&T's only so as not to undo January's efforts perhaps?)
