#25 Welsh guide released?

I can confirm the guide is in hathersage, just got myself and dave a copy. I nearly crashed about five times on the way home trying to read it. I have to say that it is absolutely stunning. In fact i can't even think of enough superlatives to do it justice.  Combine an awesome area, with top class graphics and design, tons of good piccies and inspiring and interesting text and what have you got? The perfect guide (oh yeah, its also comprehensive and written by someone who is more passionate for the area than anyone) sorry i've just shot my load  :blowjob:

on the downside i've got to hand an essay in tomorrow and thats now looking fairly unlikely, cheers panton you've just cost me my degree! :D

i wasn't that impressed with the visuals of 7+8 to be honest - ok, its by farthe best font guide out if thats your grade range, but on the whole, the guide seemed a bit bare.

looking forward to seeing Simons master piece when i come back to Blighty this summer though...........

Well done Simon.
Are you having a launch party?
How many problems are in the guide?
How many pages?
How many areas?
What are the biggest areas?

Whoop, got mine - well two, one for a friend. Will bring them into V12 sometime this spring for signing  :)

Looks very cool....very stylish. Comprehensive and loads to go at, particularly at the mid-grades. Some nice photos....the photos of the boulders with the blurred backgrounds are pure class  :8) . The spirit of bouldering is captured well in the introduction and along with the YGB guide will be a part of bouldering history as a reflection of it's validity in it's own right.

A few things I didn't like - I think it might not be as hardwearing as it could be, the text and stars aren't quite as clear as standard, and although I appreciate the inclusion of Welsh text as a positive political point, it does reduce the user-friendliness slightly (obviously not for people who can only read Welsh though!)

Oh and one strange thing -  RAC boulders, SS to the thin crack between 25&26 isn't in....very good (and pretty pure) problem.

Suffice to say it's got me very inspired

i find most guides which don't follow traditional text formats hard to work with at first (inc. 7+8, pink font guide, rockfaxYBG, ...) but generally after reading it for a few weeks it'll be right.

Mine dropped through the postbox yesterday. Thanks to V12 for quick service.

Nice one, Simon, it's tremendous. Love the design, loads of great pictures. Haven't used it in practice but everything corresponds to what I remember it and the combination of the photo-diagrams, drawn diagrams and text makes everything very clear and easy to find. Loads of things described that will be new to me. Damn, I've got a lot to go at! Thanks for all the hard work. Can't wait to get out and use it.
