Gogarth this time of year?
December 01, 2011, 01:59:17 pm
Ive climbed there a few times early Nov. With all this mild wetaher thinking of legging down next week 4 a few days. Just wondered if anyone's more in the know and what the weather needs for it not to be too much of a suffer fest.

Sun...and lack of wind.  :P

Sun, obviously yes. Wind: it just needs to not have too much West in it, and you are fine in my experience. Even then, some bits are more sheltered than others - Yellow wall is always a good bet, i did the Moon in February, and was genuinely too hot - and i'm really nesh.

Like others have said you can climb there all year round if you pick sunny, low wind days.

I've just been over at Rhoscolyn this morning doing some crag shots for the new Gogarth South guide and nearly got swamped by a big wave at the bottom of the Red Wedge. Best bet today would have been Llawder, but a bit gusty for my liking.

Cheers. Just looking at the charts and dont look great anyway for mid week. Give it go though I think.
