My sister has passed her iphone 3 on to me but as the power button no longer works and it froze when she was backing the last of her apps up, I'm looking to have it fixed. There's obviously the usual minefield of companies purporting to be better than the next but I wondered whether any of you have had a good experience with any firm out there and might be able to give a vague estimate for a repair? Many bigups.

The missus' fucked up and died, took it to Vodafone who said it was water in it and said it'd cost 250 notes.

Took it to the Apple Shop in Trafford Centre, they said the same re: water and just gave us a new phone.  May be worth a look?

fixing the power button looks pretty simply

unfreezing it should just be a matter of reinstalling the firmware/rom/whatever it is that apple call it.

Yup check yourself in for an appointment at the genius bar???? At your Luurcal apple store.. I've heard a few folk getting a straight replacement... When my 4 was 2 weeks old the screen cracked all the way accross after it fell over, and they replaced the whole phone for £150.. Which given they were worth £500 at the time was a good touch..

They're at the top of the hitlist those blurts. Stop skipping around your stupidly designed store, landing in a legs wide apart position pointing that unnecessary piece of transaction machinery and just answer my fucking question!
