Best mid grade problems in Ticino
November 14, 2011, 12:36:19 pm
Hi everyone

Rocked up at work this morning with a grin as my lady had booked our flights for Switzerland! I can't wait to go to a new area as up until now I have been a pure Font pilgrim. Time for a change I think and my missus loves Switz so no doubt this is going to be a good trip.

Only snag being I have no idea what problems are good and as I am only going for 12 days, I don't want to be pottering about when my dream problem is right round the corner. Not being able to get my hands on a guide too means I can't spend evening drooling over the granite blocs.

Does anyone have some cool suggestions in the V6-9 range?

I have a copy of Stone Love but I ain't Jerry, Malc or Ben with a busted shoulder, or even Harris/Patterson for that matter and you don't see many problems other than the bigger classics in this.

Any help would be great

:2thumbsup:

Type "ticino bouldering" into the search box on vimeo - you get 92 videos to look through...

I'll lend you my Chironico and Gotthardo guides Tom. Is Monday soon enough for you to have them?

Reeling from the 'even Harris' comment! How rude! Harris is a force to be reckoned with! I would love to be even nearly as good as Harris!

Anyway, splitting hairs aside. Up to 7c at Cresc and Chironico - i say that as I presume you arent going to magic :

Cresciano
hannibal lecter - 7c
il partner - 7c
harry spotter - 7a
la boulette

Chironico
Dr Med Dent - 7b+
cliques a claques (sit) - 7c?
tomahawk - 7b?
vitruvian man
serre moi forte stand

if you do get to magic
Hohenrausch
Jack the chipper
Cote d'un Seshuan
supernova
blown away
schnee sturm

Ah thanks chaps that's great.  :)

No offence intended by the "even Harris" comment. The man is a beast! Certainly not my intention to imply anything there.

Andy B - Dixon has lent me the Chironico guide but would like the other too if thats cool.

No not going up to magic. Mainly Chironico and Brione I think!

Cheers for the help!

At Brione the most obvious one to go for would be Molunk, but It's right hand arete leading into a similar finsh is also good, at around 7bish. In that sector the big highball slab that you'll see in the field might be your bag too.

But interchangeable/ equivalent with Richie? A bitterer pill...
