by the way fatdoc, I bought a trance in the end, thanks for all your help, and I dont agrea with your ebay theory, I managed to get rid of 2 of my bikes for more than they were worth on there

I got top doller for that bullit, (more money to spend on upgrades for my other bikes)

I hear you about ebay, just dont like it & prefer to buy off fourms, each to their own.

OK, so it'd put you a bit over budget (assuming cheap groupset & wheels from Merlin or similar http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Bike+Shop/MTB++Parts/Transmission++Gears/Groupsets+-+MTB/list.htm ) but you'd have something a bit different.
