Going to try and source a shed load of chalk from a chemical manufacturing company Is it pure magnesium carbonate i want or something else? I remember getting hold of some chalk once from a gymnast He said it was mag carb but it was really silky in feel Wasnt much cop for climbing

you need to get the sort made out of prism shaped molecules rather than sphere shaped ones

I know what you mean by that silky stuff - it still dries your hands ok, but not much friction.

We call that chemist's chalk - we used to buy it when we were students because it was dirt cheap.

It's really not that good.
