magic wood and closest airports
June 30, 2011, 08:03:40 pm
Heading to magic wood in a month, hitching a lift there with friends but need to fly back to Bristol to get home slightly earlier, does anyone know where the nearest airport is/has anyone done that trip and know how to do it with as few connections as possible and without breaking the bank?? Ta my lovelies

No idea, but if it were me I'd start by looking at where in Switzerland you can actually fly to from Bristol as that will likely be the deciding factor.  There may be closer airports, but it may not be possible to fly to Bristol from them, and getting >1 flight will likely tote up the bill.

Any search engine should get you there, or you could check EasyJet/Jet2/BMI (I don't even know who operates out of Bristol though).

Ryanair fly Bristol–Milan Bergamo. Which really wasn't that hard to find out. The Milan airports are about the closest. Or try Skyscanner.

Ok, thanks both - for some reason I thought Zurich was the closest

Could be I suppose. Don't know if anyone flies cheap there.

Yeah, flights out of Zurich are really expensive (cheapest was coming in at about £304 via Blue Islands).

Have just booked Ryanair flying out of Milan (Bergamo) coming in at a much more respectable £60 so thanks for the tip-off, appreciated  :-)

Sorry for late reply.  I had friends in a van to bring my stuff home so i'm afraid I don't know what the deal is with sports gear on Ryanair - probably not the cheapest though?

Think I read on UKC it was £22 to check a pad in on Ryan Air.
