Rodellar tick list
September 05, 2011, 10:43:22 am
Off to Rodellar at the end of September  ;D I recently bought the new guide book which looks superb, but also realised that a week is not enough for this place. So as not waste time are there any recommendations of routes from people who have been?

Here's the links to previous recommendations (I've spent a few months there so have a reasonably good knowledge of the place):

One thing I didn't mention on the previous threads was Florida at Surgencia. This is a long 8b+/8c on the left and steepest bit of the steepness. Basically it's a long and superb 8a+ to a virtual hands of rest at huge jugs and a lower off and then a nasty manufactured boulder problem. I've no idea why the main section is not in the guides as a stand alone route as IMO it's the best 8a+ worth of climbing in the area and better (not disjointed and artificial) than the full route. If I ever go back to Rodellar it will be top of my to do list (ran out of time on last trip).

If you try one 8b, make it Les Chacals, definitely the best at the grade, if not the best route in Rodellar!

Others of similar quality:

Vielles Glories - 7c+ - Gran Boveda
Sayonara Baby - 7b+/c - Surgencia
Gracias Fina - 8a - Pins Sans Rire
María Ponte el Arnés - 7b+ - Pins sans Rire
