Right Eliminate
July 04, 2011, 02:51:38 pm
Couldn't see a chockstone walking by this the other day yet felt oddly drawn to it. How do you protect it? Do you protect it?  Do you need a couple of Camalot 6s  .. or do you just keep swimming?
Thanks.
(and any advice about the left one, while we're at it?)

Only ever done it with the original chockstone, but I think a friend 6 will go in where the chockstone was, and a 5 lower or higher. Two 5s might be ideal as they would protect the two hard bits whereas you can get in it enough to be fairly secure in the middle section. The left one is pretty easy, don't think there's any special gear or knowledge required.

Who'd want to borrow a cam when you can use a UIAA approved chockstone?

I think this thread needs locking before it all starts again.

I tried this last year with two 5's and fell out of it after a lot of struggling, wrestling and swearing.  I also fell out of left eliminate on the same day. Fun, fun, fun!

Thanks for the replies. Were size 5 (friends?) big enough?

I seem to remember having a 5 and a 6, the 6 being more useful
