Just been told that Adam Pepper has passed away. I don't know any details but someone has posted something on Adam's FB page (https://www.facebook.com/adam.pepper.94).

Condolences to his family especially Ben and Joe  :(

Steve Albini

This is what I was going to post yesterday evening when I saw the news about Adam. Albini was a titan for both his own bands and his production work.

Legend. I didn’t realise how many metal albums he’d produced before browsing his discogs https://www.discogs.com/artist/59373-Steve-Albini?superFilter=Production&creditFilter=Producer

MC Conrad, a voice junglists will never forget.

I just saw that in memorandum the BBC site now has his 1995 essential mix up. - I taped it off the radio onto cassette back in 1995!
Fond memories of hearing him at Speed in London and at the Tribal Gathering festival!

MC Conrad  :'(
A very good friend was massively into Jungle, I not so, more house/trance but certainly entertained it. He persuaded me to go to Lebateu's in the 'pool once. Both 18 at the time. We floated into the backroom, which would fit 100-150 at best with Fabio, Grooverider & MC Conrad at the helm. I'll never forget that night. 1995. Magical times.

Cheers for that.. just been listening. I think I must have had it on tape too, I seem to be able to recall all the words, as you do. Was a massive LTJ, PFM  Looking Good/Good Looking fan.

Tim Greenhalgh - organiser of the Wiltonfest, oft-companion to r-man's Lancs bouldering explorations, and all round cantankerous, knowledgeable and passionate Lancashire character.

The scene where he runs out of the house and into the pond to try & save his daughter is stunning.

Kellys Heros and Dirty Dozen are two of my fave WW2 films.  Such a good character in those.

Not forgetting Scream of Stone. Shame it was let down by the script as the ingredients otherwise were the ultimate dream line-up for a climbing film.

Always massively watchable, even his bad was good. I watched a little round-up on IMDB and the clip of Don't Look Now zapped me straight back. Haven't seen that movie in decades but testament to the art that a couple of seconds can evoke an instant emotion. Mash, Ordinary People, Hunger Games, Klute, Pride & Prejudice, even flipping Space Cowboys.

Be a good route name for stone that.. so long as the move the chains evokes an almighty power scream on the first ascent.

I always thought the remake of Invasion of the Bodysnatchers was excellent.
And that's coming from someone who loves the original 50's version.

John Middendorf.

Climber, engineer, environmental activist, entrepreneur, teacher, writer and historian about big wall climbing and climbing gear, and all-round good guy. Someone who brought a lot more to the world than took from it.

I’ll write something a bit more considered when I’m not in quite so much shock at the news.
