MCA had been "Ill" for some time (think he was diagnosed about two years ago, remember watching the video where they explained why they were pulling out of the tour they were currently on). 6Music had a day long tribute over the weekend, I'm sure a lot of it will be available online.

that was great, I went through a whole lot of videos and songs and now my ears are whistling.
I feel lucky I've seen the Beastie Boys live. still now they are one of the few bands whose music makes me feel omnipotent.
