blood blister!!
August 07, 2011, 05:23:08 pm
does anyone have any tips, usually i leave them until the 'black puddings' can be picked off, but i am urgently seeking a solution to allow fulll service to be resumed in the next day or two. i have lanced it with a heated(and cooled) needle but only small amounts of blood come out and maybe it even refills.? i have also contemplated the effects of keeping pressure and seeing if it empties. the lumphammer incident was a couple of days ago now and it is still bulbous and quite tender, i'm thinking of two holds in particular which maybe particularly compromised, any feedback welcome, yrs gratefully   neil

Radical solution, but sterilise a needle and then thread a bit of cotton through it. Cut off so you just have a coupleof bits of cotton sticking out, which should wick out moisture / blood and cover with a plaster to keep clean. Leave it till it dries out. Works with normal blisters too.

I normally wash the cotton with a bit of dettol and leave it in. Stings a bit at first, but dries it out nicely. Remove with tweezers once skin has dried out.

I think you will need to come up here to buy it. Pay us a visit, catch a lift with MP next time he goes offshore!
