Quickdraws & Clipstick Compatibility
August 09, 2011, 02:11:03 pm
Thought it might be a good idea to start a thread about compatibility of different quickdraws and clipsticks to help people out when buying new draws.

I'll start with:

Clipstick:
Standard Beta Clipstick

Quickdraws:
DMM Proclip - compatible
Simond Rocky (solid) - not compatible (hinge is too highly sprung)

Or you could put it into a grid-like table on the Wiki

Surely you just check the CS Rating against the QD Rating?

CS0 to CS3
and QD1 to QD3

QD1 can only be used with CS1, but QD2 can be used with CS1 or CS2, and QD3 can be used with CS1, CS2 or CS. CSO are generally considered too flexible to be used with Quickdraws at all and should only be used for fishing.

:)

SA Chris - can you post all the relevant CS and QD ratings for the different products available and I'll knock up a matrix for the wiki

:-\ I wonder what the odds are of Chris having those to hand?  I bet I could make a profit on him having to use something like  :google: to post them up for you.

I would google like mad if such things existed. Sadly they don't, just me being bored again, hence the smiley.

(I thought the fishing bit made it fairly obvious I was just making it up).

Christ on a bike

Works surprising well on a standard beta clipstick, as long as he takes off the crown of thorns.
Oh, and mtb only, not that naff shopper with the wicker basket he normally uses....

(ps - one of the funniest threads I've seen in a while..)
