Okay flying from Luton to CDG(Paris) next week. What is the score with bouldering pads. Can you just turn up and book them on as luggage, or do you have to ring first?

Any advice/tips welcome!

With Sleazyjet I think you are allowed a seperate bag containing sporting equipment in addition to your existing luggage so just explain what it is and it should be ok.

alright, had a similar worry last year with BMI.

Two of us went, we chose a tactic of having one big bag with all clothes etc in it which one of us had as 'main luggage' and then the other turned up with the mat (which was a Franklin Drop Zone, so one of the bigger ones).

Got some funny looks, but otherwise they were cool - they x-rayed it, made us take off the straps and then we had to wait for the geezer to bring it on a trolley cos it wouldn't fit into baggage claim ting...

Should be fine - I think they're more worried about weight than size.

A group of us flew Ryanair a couple of years ago with about 5 pads with no trouble, apart from the searches at the other end :roll:
