Aye Gunks is the fairly qualide bouldering area close to New York. Supposed to be quite good, as it happens

Yeah the Shawangunks are in New York. It's an area that's classic for Trad climbing, but we are after the boulders. There is a wealth of great bouldering and if any of you happen to head out this way..PM me and I will be sure to get you the tour.
