Urgent Action Breakage!
June 12, 2011, 09:12:29 pm
undercut / gaston gone from crux of said route today, it had been in a rather delicate state for a while, if i had expertise / glue i would repair it ... the hold is at the bottom of the route if anyone is there with the gear tomorrow.

which hold? the hold you gaston after traversing leftwards, prior to going up to the big juggy holds?

so who literally crushed Urgent Action then?

Cheers
Tim

Haven't been on it for a while but know the hold. Is it still climbable without the lost hold?

It would be a significantly harder move without the Gaston hold - I think Gareth is gonna arrange for it to be glued back on? Btw the hold was ok on Friday it was not me!

'OK' is a bit relative; it has looked very dubious for several weeks at least, if you looked closely at it: it had clear hairline cracks all the way around it. IMHO these things are pretty much the shared responsibility of everyone who's been on the route, which includes me.

I never really looked at the hold that closely but I never felt it move. Gareth is glueing it back on tonight! :clap2:

Back on, but not tested, if anyone is there today and on it, test it first.

We need to send a heffer up to test it. Have you had a micrometer on it to make sure there's no 'juggy-ness' been added?
