Wide angle lens
May 01, 2011, 10:04:44 am
I just ordered a Tokina 11-16 f2.8 for £440 off one stop digital. I'm excited about it. I had to share it on here rather than any other outlet in case my ladyfriend / parents think I'm an idiot for spending £400+ on a lens.

In honour off this moment, and for some inspiration, can anyone share there some off there super wide climbing photos in this thread?

I hope your Christmas list can contain items that typically cost more than £300

Lens arrived this morning. First impressions are that it looks and feels quality. Took a picture out my window and the picture quality is very high, auto focus is fast. Faster than I was expecting.
Biggest problem is that it is big and pretty heavy, and it doesn't fit in my camera bag when attached to the body. Kind of annoying, means I will have to get a new bag, which after spending £450 on a lens is annoying.
I will take some pictures in town today and post them up later.

Agreed, I really like the top shot, being really picky I find the dark rockface on the right a bit distracting as it is so much darker than the rest of the shot but otherwise veeery nice meestah.

That's because it is darker than the rest of the pic? Shade does that :)

Some photos from today. Portraits are interesting, you have to get about an inch from your victim's face.

Yeah nice one pal. I'll keep my eye out for one. Mick has a 55-200 he's taking with us too so if we have a 10-20 and I take the stock 18-55 we'll have it covered.  :great: Now all we godda do is climb something worth photographing  :2thumbsup:
