I'd think any brand would fail in this circumstance.
SuperGlue be of any use?

Superglue is no good as it's not flexible, it causes the skin underneath to crack.

Depends where you are taping, and from your cryptic info it's hard to advise

Didn't seem that cryptic, but anyway: it's to protect the cuticle and outside of index from my thumb. It splits and cracks badly, pissing blood, when crimping. Glue or gluing tape is useless.

So, again, any one brand of fingertape particularly sticky?

I get the same problem if I crimp hard, hurts doesn't it?

I've tried a few things but it always comes back to taping circumferentially, which is not idea but it's the only thing I've found that does anything.

Let me know if you come up with something better.

Metolius is the stickiest i've used. I don't rate lyon.

Ps You can pick Metolius up pretty cheap at ccc

I find the metolius one doesn't stick very well at all (are we talking the wide roll)? the strappal they sell on V12 outdoors is a lot better. Can't remember what make it is though?

Probably the cleanliness of the skin makes a fair impact on how well tape sticks. Might be worth using a bit of isopropanol on the skin to clean off any residual grease/ sweat etc before taping.

The stickiest tape I've ever used will stick wood to metal  , not sure how practical it is for fingers , but I just thought I'd mention it ....... In fact I've got a roll in the Van if anyone wants to try it out .......

Back in the day the Yanks used Tincture of Benzoin (Friars Balsam) to help tape stick to there hands.

An old A+E trick for steristrips, works well.  And I love the smell of tinc benz!

I should have said other tape could work. Because I have no cuticle and the skin all around the nail is fragile the tape has to be strong enough to stay on, but not so strong as to crack and tear the skin further. It kind of worked with strappal yesterday, but I wondered if that was best option, is all.
