Ok here goes, on saturday I was at one of the best places for grit bouldering (Bridestones), in the sun, not much wind, very crisp, and good condidtions as it hadn't rained since tuesday.  There was at probably only 4 other people there, the whole afternoon.  Yorkshire's great, however if the Lancashire border was moved slightly so Bridestones was in it, Bridies would be instantly twice as good

On Sunday I was at shipley glen, it was warm, no wind, and we saw 2 other people bouldering all afternoon, and the conditions were again pretty damn good.

Peak bouldering is ok, and cratcliffe/RHS is really good, but the rest never inspired me too much, stanage is always too busy, and I don't really like bouldering on edges (edgering?   ).

And the ultimate edge to boulder on is in Yorkshire SLIPSTONES :clapclap:

Although there is some bizarre convention, (that just shows most people are slack), it wouldn't mate.  Half of a group of people from sheffield, live in sheffield.

I reckon most of our members are from Sheffield, then North Wales, then the rest all scattered about. We certainly don't get many posts about Scotland.

But I must concur that the bouldering in Yorkshire is as good as anything in the Peak, and there's more of it, it's just the Peak is so easy if you live in Sheff.

And I always thought it was Lager, lager, later as in Born Slippy?

>ultimate edge to boulder on is in Yorkshire SLIPSTONES

Probably why I haven't been then!  Need to get to Caley again, should be coming back into reasonable condidtion now I guess.  Wasn't too impressed with Crookrise, everything was the wrong size, too small to bother leading on, and too high to boulder on (for a wimp like me anyway).  Gorple needs a visit as well once the weather picks up, seen as it's only 15 mins away an' all.

Yorkshire's good for lots of reasons.  Erm, actually I mean yorkshire's toss, all the boulders fall apart when you pull on them, they're surrounded in dead sheep infested swamps that you have to walk across for 45 minutes before you can even see the rock and the problems are all crap.

Phew that was close, was nearly trying to promote the place then!

According to Mick Johnstone in an OTE article, it's Lager Lager Lager.  I assume someone got the spelling wrong - it's not uncommon for people to write spell "lager", "larger".

As for the Real Keel - I assume using the chip for your foot makes absolutely no difference to the difficulty of the problem, so it doesn't matter if you use it or not.

stanage is in derbyshire, although if you're belaying at high neb your gear could quite well be in yorkshire. all burbage valley is in yorkshire but also the peak national park. rivelin is also in yorkshire and the peak.

It was all the fashion when it was younger and had to join the navy.
