Do you need to have space for your guidedog? Might narrow it down a bit.

If it's the one in Mondreville near Chateau Landon then what you just agreed to in French is to re-mortgage your house so you can afford the heating bill when you check out.

Not quite. My eyesight only started going downhill a few years after I started working with computers and lots and lots of little numbers (I was going to say little figures but that's more Fiend's area).

Anyway yeah, now without glasses or contacts I'm Mr Magoo which is why I have the right to take the piss out of you for heading the same way.

Without wanting to hijack this thread, has anybody ever stayed in Bourron Marlotte? A few of the smaller gites are located there, it's just that it looks like it might be a bit of a pain to get over to the climbing areas, as it's further east? I'm probably being a bit picky as it's not far east of Ury, but I'll be going with a 6 month old bébé, so will be mixing it up with morning/afternoon hits...

You can also use:

http://webitea-91-gdfv4-francais.gl.itea.fr/page_web.php?page=accueil.html&dpt=91&DEP=91&LOOK=GDFV4&XHTML=O

for Gites De France, Essonne region, which includes gites just north of Milley.  I've stayed in a couple of Gites which were excellent and well equiped compared to some of the more basice ones I stayed in the Seine et Marne region (a few years ago now so may have changed).

On a related note - does anyone know when French holidays are?
(That they ever go to work amazes me, but still...)

Trying to book 4/5 nights to escape the royal wedding, but the GdF sites only seem to allow full week bookings for self-catering gites.

29th April - 2nd May i.e. the weekend after Easter.

We got a gite for 4 nights last year, however they're rennovating this year and aren't opening again until summer.
With 6-8 of us heading out, we'd prefer to self-cater as it makes it quite a bit cheaper...

Thanks for this, knew about the other site but not this one, managed to find a two person gite (rare things) in a good location, hopefully it will prove to be nice!

Some links to gites and other places to stay here but I fear they will all be booked up by now: http://www.climbapaedia.com/en/plan/

If you click on the Font region on the map it should be self explanatory from there. More links for accommodation due to be added to the map soon so keep checking.

Good luck!

If you want to advertise your site get in touch to advertise rather than sneaky freeloading.  :chair:

Shark, sorry about that - I'm new to these forums and wasn't aware that it was 'sneaky freeloading'! I was just trying to pass on helpful information.

Please let me know what I can and can't do and how much advertising costs,

Ta,

Ollie
