Bouldering at Alter Rock Derby
December 20, 2010, 07:54:52 pm
Quick question I know there is bouldering; but has anyone been is it any good? I don't need anything over Font 5+/6 or anything too brilliant as I'm only getting into it; just want somewhere to go on Tuesday evening for a couple of hours as I'm going to visit family (I currently live in Bristol, so usually go to TCA)

cheers,

Konrad

It's ok, the rope stuff is better, it is in general pretty undergraded (imo).

Depending where you are staying, I think Nottingham is much better (I regularly see one of the Derby wall employees climbing at Nottingham), especially for bouldering and I have heard good things about the Stoke wall.

Thought so;  I live right in the centre of Derby, I would have gone to Nottingham or even Birmingham but bit short on time as I'm going to Norway on Wednesday morning, was just going to go for a bit of a workout instead of sitting on my arse at home.

thanks for the reply

Worth it for a workout, they even have/had some sort of systems board.
