Big Air mantle - Stanage Plantation
November 11, 2010, 01:38:06 pm
Had a look at this a couple of times, found the leap across the void pretty steady, thought that was the hard bit, I was very wrong.

Tried all kinds of things, used the pockets, even laybacking off the ridge that goes straight up.  Didn't have that much time and nothing seemed obvious, I get bunched up and fall off.

I have long legs.

Anyone got beta?

My sequence as per that clip:

Get the high pocket with right, adjust your left hand into the good right-hand side of the big pocket, then left foot on big smear and rock up, flagging right leg really high until you can go again with right for top.

Lots of others lock through off the small high pockets.

i am 6'3. Did as JB describes, but instead of going again for the top with my right hand, sat on my left foot, locked the right hand pocket, got the left hand pocket with the left hand and then stood up.

I went again with right like JB, but used outside right foot to stand up on. The jump was the hard bit for me - took me ages to commit, even though there was a snow trampoline beneath.

I threw up a really high toe hook (above by hands).  Felt safe as conditions weren't mint.  Think it was scarier for my spotter
