Below bridestones
November 01, 2010, 11:52:34 am
When i've been at bridestones before i have noticed there a quite few outcrops of grit below the main edge when looking towards todmorden/hebden bridge. Clearly visible on the satellite image . Just wondering if there is any bouldering on these edges or are they off limits? There doesn't seem to be any info on YG. Cheers.

Annoyingly I can't access google maps right now, anyone else having problems?

But at a guess, might it be Hugencroft?

Not really below the Bridestones, more on the opposite side of the road.

Have you looked on UKC database too?

Nah, Hugencroft is over the other side of the road (since CROW act acessed via a path near the pub).  The rocks that I think the Op refers to are down from the big bay area and have had a little bit of attention a few years back.  I seem to remember that there was a 7a+ recorded there, a small roof if I remember right.  Never bothered to walk over there though.

There is a roof done by Jordan Buys a year or two ago here at Orchan Rocks

From memory straight through was in the range of 7b/c traversing off half way through was about 7a.

No surprise really that some stuffs has been done by the keen. Thanks for the info. It just always intrigued me. May go and have wander around. Orchan rocks looks especially interesting.
