I really rate both Summits and Secrets and The Endless Knot by Kurt Diemberger. I'll dig out the thing Houdini sent me when I get a chance.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Dennis Gray's Todrha.

Mind you it is fiction, so maybe not quite what you were after.



A short, but reasonable read is Simon Jakeman's Groundrush. Base jumping; nuff said. Good for a train journey.
