Bobbed up this pillar on Ramshaw on sat. Its in the dangerous Croc snogging area at the opposite end of the corridor to Menlove, it looks quite unlikely but moves through a superb sloper, after a clean it has made a good addition to the circuit.

It looks a bit like a cock.

That's why it's called Saļan, it means "cock" in the Anglo Saxon.

I'm surprised Paul Mitchell hasn't done it already.

You would know if he had done it any time in the last 20 years, as you would still see the chalk caked all over it.

Isn't it one of Welfords, done from a sitter at around (you guessed it) 7b+?

I checked Mansizelove out (in a looking at it sense) for last year's Staffs guide, based on a chalk drawing on the blue mat at the back of the Works. It wasn't that long ago he did it and it was pretty green and very scrittly and already there was a crunched-off hold. It looked very unattractive and extremely brittle.

The rock in there seems very soft.

I think John rated it. I thought it looked fantastic except for the fact that it was green and scrittley and in a muddy windswept pit. Shame. He did it in 05 so there's been a few years for the slime to return.

i agree it looks reet good, were the foot blocks down to the right used or just the overhanging boulder itself?

I went and did this yesterday. Seems that this is not the Welford 7b+. Nice find and tricky move to a slope sidepull.
