On Saturday i put up a new highball arete, to the left of Micks Metaphor, in the woods at Hen Cloud. Starts as for MM but swings left onto the arete. Its described as a project in the new Staffs guide and it needed cleaning so I'm guessing it was still up for grabs. Its about 5m with a crux at the top.

Don't know of anyone who's done it. I remember there was a tree behind with a little stubby branch at waist level that looked like an erect cock, and that you could possibly land on it if you fell off the top.

You could land on the tree cock but i didnt think it would go down well if sawed it off, i chose to man up instead . I climbed it on its right so the chance is not as high as if you were to swing round to do a left hand finish. Pretty safe with a spotter.
