September road trip
August 19, 2010, 10:02:38 pm
I was thinking Dumby, Skye, Thumberland, then finish off in the peak. What I would like to know is, is there anywhere I can crash near dumby and in northumberland? For free, obviously, as I'll be sleeping in my car in skye and wanting to sleep in my car elsewhere too. I realise sleeping in the car near dumby might not be too good an idea... I'll be going early september.

There was a French dude slept under the boulders for a month a while back, he was never killed nor thrown off by the owners of the Castle.

Plenty of dosses in Northumberland - plenty of out of the way spots. I'd recommend the beach road in Bamburgh for an amazing view in the morning.

There was a recent thread about places to crash in Northumberland. How long you going for?

Could lend you some floor space in Glasgow if you want. Won't be able to climb as I'm still out the game, but Mr Dumby.info is down there most nights (my flat mate).

How long you thinking of hanging around? Only issue is, I get up pretty early most days for work so probably best to be there over a weekend.

To be honest, you'd probably be alright in the carpark at Dumby. as long as you have bulletproof glass...

Right, plan is:

Monday 13th - drive to Dumby, crush, crash somewhere.

Tuesday 14th - Dumby - Skye

Wednesday 15th - Coire Lagan, Elgol

Thursday 16th - Skye - Tayport

Friday 17th - Tayport - Northumberland

Saturday 18th - Thumberland and back to Leeds.

Might turn it into a bouldering wall road trip if the weather doesn't play ball...

Unless you have some valid reason to do so, Long way from Dumby to Skye for a day. And why Tayport?

Some nice places more accessible than Skye.
