On a recent trip to the esoteric area of Thuscross, Rupert and I stumbled across this very nice traverse. Big Frank of Sypleland Balm infamy commented that it was one of the best in Yorkshire. This may be a bit enthusiastic but it is a quality little problem. Shame about the other problems and midges at this time of year. Worth a visit though:

Saw this on YG, looked good.  Liked the Ru face of concentration.
Is there a lot more there?  And is it a total bracken thrash to visit?

To be honest we got so bitten by midges at dusk that we decided to head for the Hunters so we didn't do much exploring at the far end. I think there's a lot of stuff at the far end but it's mainly very highball/routes. I plan to go and have a proper look soon. Stuff at the nearer end is a bit shitty.
Yes, it was a bracken thrash but once through and into the wood it was very pleasant. Not sure of the best way to get in, most people go through the small quarry by the bridge. I can imagine on a cool breezy day it'd be a lovely palce to be. However, I know Jon from YG would disagree with me there!

Is it named after the (in)famous Doe Library Traverse?

No it's named after a small deer we saw eyeing up the line. fortunately we managed to scare it off before it got it's hoofs on it!
