Ok, I am trying to uninstall MSN messanger as I have had enough of it popping up every time I switch my laptop on. When I go to uninstall it this pops up:



I am still connected to the internet so its not that.

Its doing my nut in, any helpers?

can you run msconfig and disable it in the startup thingy? i only just understand my preceding sentence myself but i have done this with other programs in the past.

Have just tried that, can't seem to find the option for MSN in particular  :-\

How are you trying to remove it? I think youll also need to remove it from the add/remove windows components section...?

I am getting the above message when I try removing it through the regular process i.e. add/remove progammes in control panel.

Why the whistle Slackers? Do you know more? We have ways to make you talk!!

Install ccleaner - free from here.. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Click Tools, then uninstall - pick whatever you want to uninstall... I have used it to remove loads of shite that Windows doesn't even think is installed!

You also have the option to check your startup processes as Cofe says..

Ignore slack line, don't worry about removing it all together, go into services and disable it. plenty of guides on the interweb
