Mossatrocity Trash
April 20, 2010, 08:48:12 am
I've been a pretty regular visitor to the Peak over the last three months and blundered off in search of Mossatrocity on sunday morning. It's a great line with great climbing (thanks for the recommendation, Lee), one of the best on grit in my opinion, but I was really disappointed by the amount of climber-related trash lying around. I picked up a bag full of finger tape (not odd strips, but clearly someone had taped up a lot, taken the tape off and just left it under the problem), water bottles and snack wrappers, all from underneath or near the problem.

This was far worse than any other grit area I've been to over the last three months and, most annoyingly, climbers were clearly to blame.

I'm sure that I'm preaching to the choir, but please pick up your trash.

What you been doing over here dom? What's happening back in SA, apart from young Ondra tearing the place down?

And TerreBlanche getting his comeuppance.

Hey Chris,

Have spent the last 2-odd months up here for a project in the midlands - have been lucky enough to get up to the grit every weekend. Makes a nice change to Cape Town summer. Wait, did I say nice? I meant cold. The grit is good though.

SA's been .. interesting - still pretty sure I'd pick Cape Town over the UK for nothing other than the sunshine, surf and that it's never boring - c/f: Terreblanche (a dreadful end to a dreadful person who lived a dreadful life), and various other political machinations. Plus, it doesn't have any volcanoes nearby.

You mean you haven't experienced the best of UK surf yet?

Would stay away from SA during Football mayhem if I was you, volcanoes or otherwise.

I know who the bacardi breezer bottles near deliverance were cause I saw them and asked them to pick their shit up. It was the Copley boys of redtwats.com fame.

Leaving bottles under a problem is of course abhorrent. Drinking Bacardi is unthinkable.

Not pointing the finger..

"Sometime in the next few days I will be going to try and boulder problem called Mossatrocity at Grindleford Train station, its Font7c and is an amazing line, not really my best style of climbing but I really want to try it purely because it looks so good!" -

Copley blog.

Redtips boys, if you have left detritus, please don't ever do it again.

N.B I saw this was back in September.

went to BBG south last night and the amount of chalk on some things was fairly excessive (not to mention the ticks still in place on Partheon shot). There was also a load of tape kicking around under 7 ball, all covered in the amateurs blood.  :wank:
