STG’s – Get proper body fit for Surfing trip to Sumatra in May.
MTG’s – Redpoint 7c (Sturgeon/Lightweight/Body Machine) & Onsight E5 (Right Wall)
LTG’s – Redpoint 8b, Boulder 8a.

This week was all about upping the ante and a bit of shock loading for overall body conditioning.

M – Gym early morning. Treadmill intervals, bodyweight exercises and free weights - 2 hours.
T – Early morning stretching. PM PE workout (pullups, burpees, deadlift, jumps, kettlebells) 1 hour, was sick twice.
W – Early morning 45 minute hill/trail run worked in London all day.
T- Evening 45 minute hill/trail run after coming back from London.
F – Evening overall 2 hour body PE session (burpees, TGU's, kettlebell swings, ab crunches, pistons) felt sick.
S – Rest/Hungover drank beer watching the football.
S – Gardening/lifting. 100 pressups, 50kg clean and jerks, burpees.

Had a good week training wise. Deliberately no climbing as I have two more weeks to squeeze out some surfing capability which is an interesting mix of paddling power, endurance and all-day stamina.

Goals this week: 2 x swimming; 2 x overall PE sessions; 2 x run.

Big Wall: Climb the Nose on El Cap.

Other: run sub 40 min 10 k, sub 20min 5 k, sub 90 min half marathon. 2 one arm pullups.

Mon  Ran approx 45 min. Went for meal with the future in laws.
Tue   Climbing wall session 1.5 hours bouldering.
Wed  Ran 40 min approx.
Thur  Climbing wall session 1.5 hours bouldering and working on this power endurance project. Maybe route grade f7a+/b. Really close to getting it. 1st Good session since injuring my finger over a month ago.
Fri     Rest.
Sat   Went to fairhead. 2nd an E1 and dog up a hard E1 I've done before. A bit off a disaster. Need to brush up on my jamming and bridging if I'm going to climb at a decent level here this year and improve my leading head if I'm to climb at a decent level anywhere. Not acceptable.
Sun   Running 1hr 6 min.

Running well this week after cutting down a bit. Started to train with a bit more intensity at the wall but my finger is still sore after climbing. Climbing wise a disaster at fairhead. Really struggled on relatively easy routes and need to get my head together asap if I want to tick any of my trad goals this year.

Mon nowt.battered from yesterday
Tue bouldering rockcity still feel tired and skins poor.tick a couple of good problems
Wed climbed again even though skin was poor.idea being it would have 2 days to recover before the weekend.
Thu core exs and beastmaker session.2 handed stuff with +4 kilos.felt stronger on one handed stuff.
Fri mates 50th birthday do in bradfield.
Sat rough. car problems mines got warning lights flashing and the missus has forgot to tax hers.so can't go far session at rockcity do a problem i couldn't do on wednesday.out on my bike 11/2 hours.
Sun bike 3hrs40mins get a bit of a pasting of my mate who seems to be rather fit.average h/r 140.max 188 and 2,500 cals used.felt battered all evening.

Monday - Can't remember
Tuesday - 4 hours or so on the road bike before going in to work.  Jolly nice ride.
Wednesday - 45 mins of quite hard running and then vicious Gym Jones style workout.
Thursday - Meant to go biking and then running, but did neither. Drank wine.
Friday / Sat / Sun - Stag weekend. More athletic than I was expecting, and quads are still fucked from either paintballing or quad (nob?) biking

This week - some MTB action, lots of weights and a long run hopefully...

M - wtf is wrong with my wrists - pain when doing anything and shooting pain when not doing anything
T - work out that wrist pain is due to raising saddle height on bike. Search for stem riser.
W - inspired by talk of 300 workout I start by seeking company of violent semi-psychopath acquaintance while he is not in prison - go drinking in The Vine with him. Entertaining night. Feel ready to take on Persian Army.
Th - run
F - Perform 3 sets of (12 pull ups + 30 press ups + Javorek’s Complex #1 dumbell set) and then out on bike with child on back
S - look after 4 kids (11months to 9 years) all day - mostly involving running, lifting, being jumped on.
Su - 5 sets as Fridays but using youngest child instead of dumbell. Couldn't sleep so do pull ups to failure and then pressups to failure.

‘Rest’ week (day on/day off) appears not to have worked, going to try 5 full days off to see if I can drag myself out of this hole and start the cycle again

Goals - get better, lighter and stronger. Find a project.
Weight 74 kg

Wednesday - Works for 3 hours until I couldn't move.

Sat- Stanage thin skin. Worked undercut problem (undercuts are a weakness for me). Played on Brad Pit, will try Fight club when I get brad wired. Fun day.

Sun - Curbar, skin ruined couldnt hold on to grit. Didnt enjoy it at all. At home managed a decent workout on the fingerboard and cellar wall. My skin hurt but atleast it didnt grease off the wooden holds.
