Well another politian charged with expenses fraud (we're still about 100 short in my book) but the question now seriously needs to be considered at what point does probity impinge on the exercise of one's duty as an office holder?

I like others, by the virtue of the office I hold, would be judged by higher standards than say people who don't got no grammer, and accept that higher threshold, but is it right that politicians should also be judged by higher standards for their acitons as politicians?

I would answer yes, for if not we might as well have th governments as Metro opposed by the MEN or alternative.

Would resigning when charged not undermine their claim of innocence from a public point of view?
I'm of the opinion that the public and media would view it that way anyway

Its not as if politicians resign when they ought to now is it? I can think of one in particular.

Perhaps suspension when charged would be better.  Seems a bit nonsensical to resign if found not guilty.
