I wanna go to font
January 21, 2004, 11:01:41 am
Instead of going to font with my mate next week, I'm off to Paris with her instead. Recon I might get away with takin my smallish mat and bouldering bag and hiring a car for a day and nipping down to font. What sort of cost and journey time will I be lookin at d'yall recon?

it'll probably be like 2 hours from paris - although i think you might be able to get a train to font or somewhere near then walk/hire a bicycle to cuvier or something like that.

There is a train station at Fontainebleau/Avon, which is just a few minutes taxi ride from town.
Trains for Fontainebleau-Avon leave from Paris-Gare de Lyon station.
Once at Gare de Lyon, go to the "Guichet Banlieu" to buy your ticket for Fontainebleau/Avon. At the desk ask what final destination will be displayed on the departure board. It will be usually either Montereau, Montargis, Sens or Laroche-Migennes.
Timetable on t'interweb somewhere!
Twice a year (May and November), the train times change by a few minutes.

45 mins to an hour if you drive from Paris, although it depends with side/part of Paris.  It really doesn't take that long.  Have a good one!

Just another 2dayer, but after last weekend, you realise how cheap, easy and do-able they are

Did you easyjet it to Paris then get a hire car Adam? Or some other cunning plan? With the price of the ferry am thinking its probably the cheapest/quickest way?

ferry is ninetey-nine bar on Norfolkline - which between a car-full of you isn't bad at all - considering some firms would charge you £300 for that.
