Sony make a NetMd thing that you can slap Mp3's onto a minidisc (about 5 hours worth) its pretty bo but not as good as the i-pod methinks

the software they give you with the NetMD thing is a disgrace. they sell you these things, which are a potentially a very powerful, affordable and useful way of recording music but don't tell you that the only soft it will work with is prohibitivley restrictive to the point of almost being no-ues at all.
take this example: say you play with a band, you usea  mic and you netMD to record a 2 hour set on longplay minidisc. the NetMD software won't allow you to upload that recording digitally (in about 5 minutes) since it doesn't originate from your computer, so instead you'll have to record it realtime using an analogue audio input. what a crock of shite.

rant over.

yeah dave is spot on there, i find the older version works better than the new one. I suppose seeing as sony are one of the biggest records labels, then protecting music by not allowing it to be copied onto your computer from a MD even if its not coded (I.e. your OWN work) is pretty wack!
