Irish Bouldering Meet
January 19, 2010, 03:33:03 pm
Anyone else up for it?

Last year's weather was the best ever with both Saturday and Sunday being clear and dry, the party was as ever a rare night out and in.

If folk are keen apparently there are some good deals on the ferry so driving would make it a very cheap lads weekend. (the hut really is no place for a lady).

When is this?  Can't find any mention on The Short Span.

Planning on visiting my brother who lives out there at some point this year, would be nice (i.e. cheaper) to combine the two.

18th to 21 March are the proposed dates.

Mind you I don't know what people consider cheap ferry deals, I looked and it works out at £90 per person!

cunting ryan air and car hire are cheaper!

I'll always try and come, as dave says even if the weather's not the best it's a great weekend, I think I've been four or five times and I've always gone through my skin.

Any tips for cheap ferries?

Yeah, whos up for it? Very good weekend (assuming you're not paralytic on saturday morning  :-[ lesson learned) and top notch bouldering.

Where were you looking sloper? Just checked the Irish Ferries website. Holyhead to Dublin and back again comes in at around £52 for a foot passenger. I'm sure someone would give you a lift? Looks a bit steep if you're bringing a car alright.

The probelm is getting to the ferry without a car and then getting back again.

My flights last time, including all taxes came in at about £40, and it's only a short drive to the airport rather than nearly three hours to hollyhead.

Why is crossing the Irish Sea so much more than the English Channel

Sloper are you coming? Is anyone else. There should be a decent crowd of the locals, the weather has been very good here the last few weeks, so everything is bone dry...

I'd love to Dave but Mrs Sloper's masters is curtailing things at the moment.
