Shameless self-promotion of my band...
February 25, 2010, 12:13:58 pm
My band just got added as a "we7 Presents..." featured artist which we're quite chuffed with.

Probably not to everyone's taste, but who knows. Have a listen, even if you hate it we earn 0.1p ;)
Erin K & Tash on we7

(I'm the cajon player in case anyone cares)

Anyway, sorry, spamming over :D

Ah yes, should probably have given some kind of description in case people thought we were emo *shudder*

Think we're folk/anti-folk, though never fully worked out what seperates the two.

We have rubber horse heads if that makes a difference

Glad you liked it :D

Reminded me of Jeffrey Lewis (which is a good thing).

I did Google and it brought up all kinds of crap but nothing about drums.  :'(

Durbs, are you the one with the awesome hat on in the picture?

What is a cajon?

It's a testicle. Plural - cajones. You get some amazing sounds when you whack one with a drumstick.

Cool :D People like it :D

A cajon is a Peruvian box drum (originally), it became very popular in flamenco in the '60s and is wicked a drum-kit in a box.
That is me in the hat, but alas it isn't my hat.

I think I have seen one of these drum box things in action, they are very cool, does it make different noises depending on where you hit it?  I think my brother's band used one for an acoustic set once.

Steal the hat, it is cool and suits you.  If you get in trouble tell them the Internet made you do it, it's a flawless plan.

Strangely almost true - only the reverse. The term "cajones" comes from the fact you're somewhat er... exposed when playing the cajon. It's not an instument to play naked.

Magpie - Hat stealage shall happen ;)
