its cos font 5cs get done every day of the week in their multitudes, but 8bs dont. in the same way you're not going to see someone run the 100m in 15 seconds on Grandstand.

I think people are always interested in what's happening at the cutting edge of the sport, even if it's at levels at which 99% of us will never climb.

I usually just report the new 8Cs on here because I think it's interesting to see how and where the cutting edge is being forced forwards.

That said, I'm quite happy for people to post news of whatever they've done here - it's an open forum and if somebody puts up a new V3 with awesome moves on it, then go ahead and post it - and it'll also then get put into the new problems database. At the end of the day, news of a new V3 is really of more interest to me because I can see myself actually getting out and doing it, whereas the latest V15 is purely academic for me at least.

I think most of us on here can appreciate  problems that are just quality climbing and a "punter" putting up 5c's on a windy moor deserves just as much respect as a "rockstar" putting up a new 8c - it's just not as newsworthy because it's been done many times before.

It's nice to see one of the cutting edge climbers thinking this way though.  Nice one Si.  You can come and try some of my 5s anytime.
