A word of caution if you are going to buy/upgrade to Office 2013.  You'll only ever be able to install it on one computer, if you upgrade or it dies you have to buy another license!  :wank:

Until clients start sending you documents in new formats that can't be read!

(At which point Google Docs/Libreoffice will come in handy).

Yeah at the moment it's easy to convert from newer versions but I'm sure that'll change!

something tells me not everyone will be so thrilled about another advance in Torrent technology. The potential seems incredible.

Government Service Design Manual (guide for developing digital resources) states a preference for open-source software (in-line with their policy on open standards)

Why you should change your default passwords or more interestingly, how a "researcher" exploited weak passwords to derive the most comprehensive map of the internet to date.

(Achieved because people connect devices to the internet that they shouldn't and/or left the default login/password as either 'login/login' or 'root/root'  :slap:  :rtfm: )

ISS switches from XP to Linux for improved reliability

Articles like this are always funny.

It basic says: Some company decides to ditch and old outdated OS for a modern more secure one. The fact that they moved from MS to Linux is basically irrelevant, but is the point that is always laboured on.

If they had updated from a 10 year old version of UNIX to the latest Linux distro, then it's a pretty similar result (apart from the lack of people bothering to write viruses for old UNIX's, but not because they couldn't) or updating from XP to Windows 7 or 8 would have given the same result.

Perhaps laboured by some because there is still a view that Linux isn't mainstream (despite the fact it underpins a high proportion of the internet, smartphones, smart TV's, wireless routers, and other embedded devices).

Doesn't sound anything like anonymised data being sold by EE to Ipsos Mori (who it sounds as though are in discussion with the police, who have the power to obtain such information if they need to anyway).

Ask your mobile provider what they do with your data here.

US & Israel wrote stuxnet virus that infected Iranian nuclear power stations

I wonder if Edward Snowden has some evidence to back this up.
