IG has got the NHS in a banking / high corporate level to the extreme.

only way i'll get sanction from work to use a USB is with one like this.

you want NHS employees to carry on leaving patient details on trains... or MPs sons leaving NHS data in pubs...

seems like a no brainer to me... except the cost.. ouch.

Have them at work, never use them as I just ssh to my work computer or mount network drives over VPN when working at home.

From my perspective no, they're an utter waste of time because the firmware that makes them secure only comes for M$.

More generally though I've zero experience in cryptography and how to crack protected data systems, so you'd really need to find someone who is to be able to comment on whether they "work" (by which I'm guessing you mean keeping data secure should it be lost).

(None of this constitutes IT news though, any admins could syphon these posts into their own thread where it can be found in future instead of having to trawl through this IT news thread?)

Why do you think there are so many viruses, trojans, phishing scams, dodgy emails etc. etc.

Aside from M$ leaving firewalls wide-open by default and writing some dodgy email client that could be easily exploited its human behaviour that is the weak link in computer security.

Still trying to instill the idea in my wife that just because a box has appeared asking you if you want to do something, it doesn't mean that you click on "Yes" without understanding what it is your doing.
