Dry bouldering near Leeds tomorrow
February 05, 2010, 08:42:30 pm
Thinking of Yorkshire or the Peak. Looking for a top notch bouldering venue with plenty up to 7b (mostly between 6b and 7a).

Weather from the metoffice looks alright even if metcheck is pessimistic. Any ideas on a venue that will be dry?

Just leafing through the Peak guide and Curbar seems alright. What's the snow and general conditions like there at the mo?

Trackside and Gorilla Warfare blocs were fine last weekend apparently so snow shouldn't be a problem this weekend.

Ran round Burbage last weekend but I wasn't really taking much notice however a friend climbed on the Burbage South boulders and from the photos they seemed pretty snow free. The edges however I can't comment on.

The snow is only on Burbage North and Stanage, in drifts directly below the crag. Even after last week's falls, there's no snow anywhere else, from Burbage South south.

Rang Outside in the morning and it was very very foggy so we chanced the Bridestones. Error! Still had a fun day playing about though.
