Ravensdale conditions
June 22, 2012, 04:24:03 pm
Not expecting anyone to have been but can anyone give an idea as to the likely condition of Ravensdale after all this rain?
Never been and thinking it might suitable for a quick hit tomorrow but have no idea what drainage is like there.
Cheers.

I don't know if it will be dry but we climbed there last year in the rain and it was okish! Only bumbling up a few VS's, walk-in could be fun in this weather.

Never climbed there myself , but High Tor was fine last week; Ravensdale has a similar aspect and (broadly speaking) geomorphology (Ie big crag, very little hillside above to drain), so I'd say its at least worth a look.

It was indeed fine, despite taking a soaking on the second route of the day. Crag dried quickly in the wind, and only a few spots of seepage that didn't affect the routes we were doing.
Great crag for punters like me who climb HVS/E1 had a great day out.
