Following on from discussions in the UKB for sale topic, does anyone have experience of using any Adsense alternatives and can offer any recommendations?

Currently looking at:

Adbrite

Bidvertiser

Clicksor

Yahoo Publisher

Any others?

What kind of payment scheme are you looking at? I presume pay per click?

Open to anything really - PPC needs minimal setup I guess so a good short-term solution.

I probably just need to try them all in turn.

Yes PPC is the easiest to setup but it may not give you the returns you are looking for.

Have you thought of an affiliate setup instead/aswell? If you tailored it to include say big uk outdoor shops etc like cotswold or go outdoors as I'm sure most vistors to this site would be interested in, then you could get some big returns from sales (as you know a lot of outdoor kit/clothing is frickin expensive!).

A couple of the main UK affiliate network sites are:

Check them out (if you haven't already done so), the returns from sales can be quite high.

I guess it all comes down to whether you have the time/effort to go down this path, from the sounds of things you don't but it's worth a look...

Cheers for the links - PPC is just to set up for the short term and am going to be looking into all other options as well.
