I hate the xmas thing ( as far as a father of young uns can), you know, it starts in october, goes on and on.. costs a bomb and you have noo idea what to buy.

here's a random selection of my purchases so far for the family and others to help share the burden

- Elizabeth Ardon 8 hr cream... buy 2.. they don't tell you until you do that that gives you £30 or so of free eye makeup and face toners/ cleansers.. then buy  a nice little present box from the dept store.. bingo!

just got one, really good point and click. £17 gets you a "replace if you drop it font and get sand in the lens mechanism" warranty. simple and has relevant modes for a point and click camera. The video is also surprisingly good.

- the Works have  a cool / cute line of kids 3/4 soft fabric kids bouldering shorts in, easy to wash and very soft.

- if you can wait for a new TV for boxing day I have the heads up that Currys are having a big big sale off some reasonably sized good models.. limited stocks. Samsung look top dollar, I'm impressed.

- sainsburys top of their range kitchen knives are particularly good value at the moment IMO

- Keith's new video holds appeal to those climbers that don't even fathom the awesome displays of power shown.. Tyler looks so fluid and interviews so honestly it's a gripping vid for all climbers

I just bought a Samsung LE32B450C 32" LCD TV from Amazon at £309 with free p&p, Currys were £349 for the same thing, quite a big difference on an item like that.

he did say boxing day...

We bought ours from curry last boxing day. They sold out the next day and were back up from about £300 to £600 when next around. It's a good day to buy TVs if you can be arsed.

Looked again today, online prices dropped by £10 and the discount voucher still works.
