Good News For Cheedale Access!

The Monsal Trail tunnesl are being renovated and opened permanently for use of cyclists and walkers:

BBC News - Go-ahead for reopening of tunnels

Imagine it - park at Miller's Dale with bikes, pedal away, chain 'em up, wander down. Cornice, Chee Tor etc. in 5 minutes max, dry feet and all. Fantastic.

That is good news, although it is already possible to cycle in if you park at the spot a bit further on from the normal parking place. From here it's a 5-10min flat cycle to embankment or cornice. Have done it several times this year. It's very atmospheric going through the tunnels with headorches.

Awesome! Will be nice not having to slog up the Wormhill path with a rucksack full of bolting gear anymore!
