No sound (might add some music) and quite a big file size, but the first time I've seen this done as far as i can remember.

i like the cheeky little look at the camera before topping out

needs some tunes adding though Bubbs - good angles on the filming though (did you do this one or did Steve send it in??)

Should play fine Dave - might not stream fast enough though - it's your dodgy laptop mate

Best thing to do with these if you wanna keep them is save them from your temporary internet files and download an .swf player. And to get a good clean viewing, let them download before playing.

Yeah Stu, needs some tunage, I'll sort it out. Should be able to shrink the file a bit more as well -  Steve sent this one in, so not my work, I'm assuming Dalvinder filmed it?

He sent another one of Dalvinder Sodhi on Demon Wall Roof which I'll put up over the weekend.

Thanks Steve!

i wasn't streaming it - however i did have lots of stuff including other vids playing so that may have effected it.

how come it won't let you save it directly from the page?

That's just the way Flash works - it's a tradeoff between that and using something like Quicktime where it's easier to save, but the quicktime plugin can be a real pain in the arse to install, whereas nearly everyone's got Flash already.

There's also various 3rd party things that let you save flash movies direct from your browser.

is that kinda horizontal raster thing when there fast movement just a by-product fo the compression?

good vid anyway - looks kwaliti with a kapital K. also looks a piece of piss, but i guess thats a bit misleading.

That was on the original video I got so I guess Steve did a bit of compression before sending it to me.

Looks bleedin' hideous to me

It gets V12 officially, but Steve said prolly V11 so I put that on the vid. NortonSharley was up there the other day with Tim Clifford and said that though (of course   ) Tim pissed it, he could barely do the first move.

And don't forget the hideous walk-in to Crookrise.....not been back there since my ex-girlfriends sister smashed her face in there and was ambulanced out - not pretty.

The horizontal banding is due to interlacing.  Video needs to be deinterlaced for display on computer monitors.

The walk to Crookrise isn't too bad - a bit knackering, but it's only 20 minutes.  There are some fine problems for mere mortals, as well as Jason's Roof.

Hmmm, yes. Petes dad fell off badly from the everest boulder years ago when Pete was only 12. Smashed a rib and broke his ankle very badly! Pete had to walk his dad down all by himself. Took ages!

Cheers - usually, when I Sorenson vids, it gets rid of it (there's a de-interlace setting which I must have not turned on), but I'll redo it anyway to add some music this weekend. File size is too big anyway.

Steve said he might be able to give me some stuff from Cresciano too which will be cool.

This accident was hideous - she fell off soloing and hit a boulder with her face - I found her lying in a huge pool of blood. Had to run to the farm to get an ambulance (this was pre-mobile days) and then she got stretchered out.
She shattered the back of her eye-socket completely and had a long stay in hospital but was ok eventually. Very scary.

Looks good, but crazy lines are a bit of a distraction - plus, at least some huffing and puffing and a bit of grunting would be nice!

BTW, is that Thom Yorke climbing the problem?

I didn't get any sound on the source video - I could edit some Jackie Chan style sounds on though  :D

and I'll see what I can do about the nasty lines.

Ok, I've re-done the Jason's Roof video:

- I cannot get rid of the "interlace lines" - my software usually deals with this with no problems, but it's just not happening. No idea why, but assume it's something to do with the source file.
- I've brightened the clip a bit.
- Added music.
- Shrunk file size to 7.4mb instead of nearer 12mb.

Over 400 downloads so far for this vid, not bad for one week....

Most downloaded vid so far is Adam Long on Brad Pit at over 2000 downloads.

Try something like Faststats for a pretty good, fast log analysis tool.

Works well with Apache format logs, not sure about other formats. It'll process a whole directory of logs so you can accumulate logs. The ukb logs seem to use about 100meg every couple of weeks so I've got to clear them out pretty regularly.

And this month's strangest search-engine phrases that lead to this site are:

up the bum
dirty shit pics
gay jeans free pics

I think they may have been a little dissapointed.

will we get some new vids sometime?? I kind of feel that anyone who wants to see the ones available will have seen them by now.

I know it takes time and efford, but it is appreciated.

Also anyone know of any other good ones that are fairly accessible on line?

I've hardly been out hence no vids.

I've got a few waiting in the wings like some of T.H. at Bathford and a couple from St Bees.

But the main problem is that I'm struggling to find time to both create content and develop the new site. The new site has to take priority as once it's up, the content thing will be a hundred times easier.

I've also not put any new pics or problems up - again, it's time.

But I'd recommend Kim's stuff on beardownproductions if you've not seen them.

Not sure, I'll check in the morning to see if it's still on the server - have you tried the gallery? I know some of the vids are still there.

thanks. I had a look in the gallery but no joy. Just two videos but neither of them are of Jason's Roof. If it's still on the server I'd like to see it, or you could email it to me if it's less than 10mb to unclesomebody at gmail dot com

thanks

Right, i can't get it to play at all. I can see the first few frames in firefox but then it just goes black. I've tried VLC, Quicktime, Realplayer, Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Swiff player (a dedicated .swf player!) but none of them work. Is it available in any other form? what are you playing it with?

It's just a Flash player file...but it's probably from flash version 6 - I can re-upoad the file but it probably needs re-encoding. If that's the case then it will get done, but not right now.
