Halloween: costume suggestions.
October 30, 2008, 05:11:53 pm
Never normally partake in fancy dress shenanigans so feel like I should make some effort on this occassion. Problem is, I reckon I'm gonna be in competition with 50 other obscurists and don't want to be outdone by Dr Robotnik and the Demon Headmaster.

I need some suggestions for a look basically. I was thinking something along the lines of a visual embodiment of a sexually frustrated nightmare; Chippendales meets Dale Winton meets Nosferatu or something. I have limited resources but a thousand charity shops on my doorstep. We can but pray that they'll have a leather waistcoat and cowboy boots. I had initially thought about going as Alan Partridge when he dresses as a zombie in Knowing Me Knowing You but did this back in '02. Not wanting to regress and as an alternative to Terror Chippendales, I need some ideas and fast!

although its a bit of a yankee thing haloween you could go for a british version of wrapping a load of twigs round your legs and then just before the judging getting your mate to set them a light. :devangel:

Sounds to me like your just looking for approval to dig out the oil and the mankini, as if you need it.

Some form of Mankini could be good but not that scary (well for your avergae night out in Wirral). Webbo, I'm feeling that suggestion; cheap and dangerous.

Scary mankini like this?

This has reminded me of a fancy dress event in 1990 ish where I went as Jesus (wore a tie dyed loin cloth and a crown of twigs on top of my long hair) and Oli Wright wore only a sock covering his genitalia in a Chilli Peppers stylee and a flasher mac - lots of flashing was done.

The Dead Hot Chilli Peppers thing could be a good theme and easy to do (loop of elastic around the waist to make sure the sock doesn't fall off)

Bollocks I only read half your post and found this clip as the perfect thing. Then reread it before posting and........DOH! Great minds etc.  >:(

Get a gimp mask. Combined with any boiler suit style clothing, trenchcoat and a drill. Guaranteed to make an entrance. Lagers, were you there when Pete scared the absolute shit out of everyone in the cellar nightclub by bursting in in said attire? For a second or two I honestly thought I was going to die.

An entirely forgiveable oversight Jasper! That scene has to rank amongst the best 3 comedy scenes in UK comedy history. Unbelievably enough, I've also done the boilersuit thing  in the past as part of a chain gang!

Old skool and sans gimp mask so please forgive me.....

I'm gonna make a "knife-through-the-head" except with a vinyl and lots of fake blood.

He is quite a waxy bastard come to think of it.

I'm keen to see UKB'ers outfits of choice for tonight. Let's see what you've got people! Jasper, I'm particularly intrigued to see your getup if you're out dominating the Halloween party scene.

My partying days are behind me.  :'(

I shall be mostly listening to "There Was An Old Woman Who Swallowed A Fly" on repeat as my son runs round the room shouting. And drinking wine (me that is). Best fancy dress I've done was a full on black SS outfit, especially as the Mrs had a matching one in a Helga off Allo Allo style. Might have some pictures somewhere.........

I'll have a look later. Wearing the SS costumes was made more interesting by the fact that the party we went to was held in a public bar. Some people have no sense of humour.

sadly, despite halloween becoming very popular here, it's been a long time since the last time i went to a party, so no costumes for me  >:(
but once i dressed quite regularly, white t shirt and jeans, but had made a plastic axe and had attached it to my back, coming out from a cut in the t shirt, and my back was covered in red paint, it was nice; and another time i just wore a black thing and a black hood with just two holes for the eyes and kept going around the party without talking to anyone and saying nothing, just staring at people in the most psychotic way i could. it was fun to see their reactions...
pics please now.

My offering this year for party at local wall last night - Samara from The Ring. I made a 12 year old visibly wibble  ;D  :dance1:

Bouldering in a full length nightdress was a complete bitch tho

I painted my wellies silver and put them outside the front door for the night on the assumption that the little trick or treat fuckers would never knock if they think Garry Glitter lives here

Do you have a fancy dress outfit that doesn't involve your plain clothes cop's leather jacket?  ;)

Probably a v diff on a top rope but let's move on.

What about a Nick Griffin mask, free with your copy of The Eye and some suitable slogans on a placard?
