Hi there, I've been over from Sweden a couple of times bouldering and where thinking about planning another trip.
Last year I heard about Vol2 of the Yorkshire boulderingguide that was soon due for publishing. I am keen on buying it but have a hard time finding any info on how to purchase it.
Any pointers?

Best place to ask is the publishers.

Although given it was due in March 2008 who knows?

Yep it was supposed to be march 2008, maybe this guide got backtracked a bit what with steve opening that new wall in leeds? as long as stevie wonder and ray charles are off the proofreading team this time.

slightly  but if Vol 1 is anything to go by I won't be getting Vol 2. 

This has probably been done to death, but although the pics/design was all ver flash, the guide wasn't very useable i.e. approach info too limited, few maps, rubbish format etc - I have gone back to using the RF 2001 guide as I find it much better if a little retro

I doubt the new guide will be perfect, but I'm damn sure it will contain a shit load of info on some of Europe's best bouldering that isn't available elsewhere; hence I'll be pre-ordering.

A lot of folk seem to expect the moon on a stick nowadays. I even own a northumberland guide, which is more like a turd on a stick, but well worth the cash for the info.

I think new one is ace, but calling the old one a turd on a stick is too complimentary. A rotten twig dipped in a runny turd perhaps.

I quite liked the old one actually. Had the RF before that and YGB is worth it just for the photo topos. So much easier.

I kind of liked the first volume of YGB. And even though not being from he UK I still managed to find most of what I wanted. The one thing I wasn't too happy about was getting misinformed about the stretch of "Millstone grit" which apparently was poorly described in the guide.

the new one promises so much but lots of the stuff described is dross which just seems to be in so there's a seperate bouldering guide.i reckon you could have got it all in the routes guide,like the bmc peak guides.

I think the new northumberland guide is at least useable, and with a non-fictional grading system, and hence is a significant improvement on the old guide. However like the previous guide it still looks about 15 years behind every other current guide in the UK in terms of design. And i don't need to see mark savage's website URL on every photo, i do know how to use google.

i heard going to printers now/soon and is improvement on vol 1.
